My name is Daniela Posada. I live in Bogotá, Colombia and I'm a senior year student at Gimnasio La Montaña. I live with my parents, my sister and my dog. In school I am enrolled in different activities such as the musical and the politics club, which I joined for the first time this year. Right now I'm the spokesperson at school, which means that I am in charge of defending student's rights and making sure they fulfill their duties.
Throughout my life I've been interested in international activities, such as exchange programs. During my sophomore year I was an exchange student in the United States and while coursing eighth grade I had the chance to go to Canada for two months. These were great opportunities, which allowed me to experience different cultures and understand the perspectives that other countries may have about Colombia.
I believe that the social issue that I'm mostly interested about is peace and conflict, because I care about the well being of the people in my country and I know for sure, that war is something that has terribly affected life here in Colombia and has also deteriorated the image that it gives out to the world. But I believe too in the peaceful resolution of problems, in the possibilities of reconstructing a untroubled country and in the idea of showing people the actual beauty of Colombia.
After senior year I plan to go to college here in Colombia and study a minor in law and political science.
